Day Two At New Workplace | No comments:

April had been a really good month for me so far. I've finally secured a job as a Marketing Communications Exec in an international pest control and hygiene company.

Ohai!
This is my first time working in a corporate world where everything has to go by the standard operating procedures. And honestly, I find it a little overwhelming and have yet to get used to it. I'm too used to work in a small scale, relaxing and fun working environment.

Take WG for example, there were only four of us in the same office and we were free to chat, joke, laugh out loud and sometimes sing and dance in the office. Our office was always filled with fun and laughters. Even during our lunch time. I doubt I will be able to create the same atmosphere over here as we are sharing the same office with 50 other staffs.

Where I will be seated on the first week
On my first week, I had been scheduled by my superior to join the company's induction program. It is pretty much like an orientation where a representative from each department comes over and do a presentation on what their department is about, what are their roles in the company and what are their working procedures like. It was pretty awesome as I am able to get to know the organization and the people here better. I'm actually waiting for the next presentation on the company's cash management while I was drafting this blog entry on my notepad.

In the next three days, I will be joining the service technicians and sales personnel on a field attachment to see how things are done outside of the office. I am super excited but also worried at the same time. My team mates assured me that it is going to be a lot of fun so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

View from the meeting room
Oh yeah, I was totally astounded when I found out that staffs are NOT ALLOWED to use the company's wifi on the mobile phones. Oh bugger!! Tsk..tsk.. tsk..

My working attire!
And the best part about working here will be, there a shopping mall RIGHT BEHIND the office building!!! I can't wait to go shopping after work! It's super awesome!!!

UPDATE!:
I went and walked around the mall right after work and found out that this mall is one of the LOUSIEST MALL that I've ever been too. Hands down! So.. boooooooooo!

Fashion Illustration : Red Evening Gown | No comments:

I've started sketching since 2008 by watching tutorials on Youtube and endless practice. And fashion illustration has turned into one of my favorite free time activity. But I came to realized that all my sketching have had the same posing and style.

So I told myself that I need to improve my sketching especially on the posing and color rendering. After 2 days of drawing and rendering my draft, here's the final illustration.

I have got to admit that this is my best illustration so far. And I love it so much, I've planned to print and frame it up.

So red and so much love!

Chic Work Wear With H&M | No comments:

Since its first opening in Kuala Lumpur last year, H&M has remained as my favorite shopping spot. And truthfully, I have not been shopping else where since I started working in WG, which is 10 minutes walk away from H&M's outlet in Lot 10. I still remember when there are times when I would walk over to shop for new outfits before starting work at 11am. Madness.

Here are some of my purchases for the past three months.

Leopard print shirt, peacock green skirt, silver top, blue pants and boots
White t-shirt, both necklaces and blue shirt
And while working in WG, I usually go to work wearing really casual hip outfits ranging from colorful pants to crazy skirt in bright colors.

But now that I am about to start a new job in a corporate world, I am required to wear something more formal. And that means.. SHOPPING TIME!

With the Dressing Room application in H&M's website, I've created a few looks that I would to carry to work. I always believe that formal wear doesn't have to be boring. It can be super chic too.

I love this a lot. Red shirt and blue jacket with black fitting trouser.

Pencil skirts do not have to be in boring black all the time. So one of those days when you want to cheer up the atmosphere in the office, you may wear a colorful skirt but match it with a plain dark color blouse. Nothing too crazy.

By the way, if you would love to create a look book like this, you may do so by clicking on DRESSING ROOM on H&M's website.

I have been resting since 1st of March and now that I'm all energetic, I can't wait to start work on Monday! Woohoo!

Fashion Illustration : Purple Ball Gown | No comments:

I have not been doing any sketches since I started working like three months ago. So now that I'm unemployed, I just have to grab hold of that pencils and start sketching again.

Here's an evening gown illustration that I've done after months of hiatus.

A ball gown with black tulle wth mermaid silhouette on the inside. This piece was inspired by a client's wedding gown that I altered a few days ago. It was altered in such a hurry that I've totally forgotten to snap a photo of it. What a waste because her gown is so so beautiful!

By the way I totally dig the cute bob with purple highlight on the fringe. It reminded me of the hairstyle that I had three years ago.

Mushroom Head

Have a nice weekend!

Candy Crush Saga's Addiction | No comments:

I seriously want to kick whoever that got me started to play this game. I was so hooked every since and I can't even explain why I am addicted to it so much. Especially now that I am un-employed. Every morning, I would wake up, and the next thing I do will be to reach for my phone and play for Candy Crush until I'm out of lives.

And it didn't stop there, I played in the car, during meal, even when I was halfway watching Running Man, I would check my phone to see if I got any life back. Not only I'm playing on the phone, I played on the laptop too.

And the funny part would be, I've been attending quite a number of job interviews lately, and 3 out of 5 sessions, Candy Crush Saga were brought up during the interview. Unbelievable.

And I'm not the only one who's life is ruined because of this colorful candy matching game. I've been reading about how it ruined life of other's too.

And some even went to the point of spending money buying lives and special candy just to complete a level.

Playing this game made me realized that I am super persevered when it comes to completing something. Be it a game or a task. There was a time when I was stuck at a level for so long, but I did not give up and completed that level, after playing it for two weeks! Level 137, I will not forget you!!

Okay, gotta go send request to get more life!
